Choice Bodyworks
Choice Bodyworks is about striving towards optimal health through individual awareness. Each one of us is very unique, with different combinations of lifestyle, physical and emotional health, fitness levels, and so forth. When all of this is taken into consideration we enjoy higher levels of happiness. I evaluate, advise and treat using bodywork, nutrition and personal training. I'm licensed and insured as a massage therapist, and trained by SWIHA (South West Institute of Holistic Arts) in nutrition, and NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) in personal training. I was also a collegiate water polo All-America, triathlete, and sports enthusiast.
By using various forms of bodywork including Neuromuscular Therapy, Far-Infra Red Laser treatment, hot stones, and different oils and creams (DMSO, magnesium, arnica, etc.) I can help you relieve unwanted stress, aches, pains and soreness. The basis of my bodywork technique is centered upon the ancient art of Tai Chi Ch'uan taught at the Institute of Psycho Structural Balancing (IPSB). In our bodywork session, my touch is applied with sensitivity and a deep understanding of anatomy knowing that the most superficial touch to deep tissue is felt on different levels. For me touching the body touches the soul!
About Me
I am originally from South Pasadena California. Growing up I naturally took to studying spirituality through such teachers as Dr. Wayne W Dyer, The Bible, Don Miguel Ruiz and others. While playing water polo in high school and on a collegiate level I realized the value of yoga and bodywork. Since then I have practiced such forms as Ashtanga, Hatha, and Bikhram yoga among others. For several years I also did long distance cycling participating in such events as the AIDS Lifecycle bike ride and Solvang bike ride. Meditation and prayer has always been a main staple of my life and I use it to connect with the life force energy that runs through us all.
I took a different path than most. I first earned my BS in accounting from Cal State Los Angeles and did that for several years before deciding to fully commit to my passion.
I realized that the hands on healing arts was my calling when I would unexpectedly get great compliments from friends after giving a shoulder massage. I am truly grateful to have this natural ability and love for the healing arts. I hope that you find my bodywork restorative and enjoyable!
